Mistletoe Bay Trust was established in 2003 when the Department of Conservation (DOC) was looking at options for the ongoing management of Mistletoe Bay Reserve and Campground. After negotiating a Control and Management Agreement (CMA) with the Department, the Trust developed plans to create a sustainable Eco Village facility.
Mistletoe Bay Eco Village brought these early plans to life and focuses on environmental education to project Mistletoe Bay and New Zealand as a leader in conservation, education and sustainability. Our facility offers an experience that is both memorable and educational; one where visitors, young and old can learn “hands-on” how to live sustainably within in a coastal ecosystem.
Mistletoe Bay Eco Village is run by a not for profit charitable trust, The Mistletoe Bay Trust.
Every dollar earned from our commercial operation is used to help provide a 40% discount we pass onto schools enabling more school-aged youth to have unique educational experiences at Mistletoe Bay and take on the future stewardship of our environment.
